People who would like to get involved in parish life activities or bring new ideas to foster parish fellowship can contact Brenda Brown at btbbrown1 @bellsouth.net or Nelene Odutola at Nelene.odutola@hhsys.org

Mission / Purpose

The role of the Parish Life Commission of Saint Joseph is to Promote family life, to help build community in the parish, and to foster a sense of belonging among parishioners beyond our liturgies. The Parish Life Commission encompasses activities that help build the parish into a faith community and provide for the social and communal needs of the parishioners.

Function / Responsibilities

  • To help the parishioners to get to know one another.
  • To assist in building and deepening the faith community.
  • To make available a warm welcoming and comfortable environment.
  • To gather and nurture a consistent parish community experience.

The Parish Life commission is responsible for:

Social Events
Throughout the year, parishioners and parish staff plan and host parish gatherings to promote fellowship. This would include dances, social, breakfast, dinners, picnics etc.
Parishioners are invited to bring new events, ideas and to participate in the planning process for parish events.

Hospitality
We are called to serve and in doing so we serve our Lord. Parishioners serving with hospitality help arrange refreshments for special events and celebrations, reception, lectures and informal gatherings. It works with the planned liturgical calendar as well as on an as needed basis.
Hospitality Sunday takes place the first Sunday of the month after the 8:15a.m and 11:15a.m. Mass and after the 5:00p.m .Anticipated Mass on
Saturday.
