Dear Brothers and Sisters:
As we observe the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization recommendations for social distancing, and in light of Bishop Baker’s suspension of public Mass, we need to be creative about our time for prayer and spiritual reflection.
Here are some suggestions and resources to help:
Watch daily Mass online or on television. Among the many options available are EWTN online at www.ewtn.com or use the site’s channel finder for your local television outlet, or Bishop Barron’s daily Mass at www.wordonfire.org (under the Resources tab).
Read the Lenten Booklet we distributed to all our parish families and pray the scriptures listed with each day’s reading.
View programming on Formed. Go to www.Formed.org and enter our parish code CYQ663 to access movies, audio and books for adults as well as special programming for children.
Pray every time you wash your hands. Say the Our Father for the people affected and for an end to the virus. (Thanks to Carmen Amato, our RE Director, for this idea.)
Spend time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. EWTN is hosting live Eucharistic adoration. Check the schedule for times at www.ewtn.com.
The church will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to noon on Sunday, for prayer and visits to the Blessed Sacrament. While in the sanctuary, we ask that you observe the social distancing guidelines when choosing where to sit. And please, stay at home if you are feeling sick in any way.
Finally, I will be celebrating a daily private Mass for individual intentions and for the parish family.
Always in the Savior,
