PRE-LENT BUNCO, February 8, 2019

Join us for this fast-paced game played in three rounds.  Bring a friend, food or drink to share, and $5 per person to play.  Cash prizes are distributed at the end of the third round.  Entrance to St. Francis Hall is via the north door in the back parking lot under the portico beginning at 6:15 p.m.  Play concludes by 9:00 p.m.  No Bunco during Lent. The parish staff would like to show our appreciation for all the wonderful St. Joseph parishioners who volunteer in various ministries and help with parish events throughout the year. Please join us for a special dinner after the 5:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday, January 26. Sign-up sheets are available in the church vestibule and breezeway. There is no charge to attend and you are welcome to bring family members.

WOMEN IN THE NEW EVANGELIZATION—Women, WINE & Wisdom Saturday, February 2, 2019, 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 1055 Hughes Road in Madison. Our speaker is Kelly Wahlquist, catholic speaker and author, founder of WINE: Women in the New Evangelization, and Associate Director of the Archbishop Flynn Catechetical Institute. The Knights and Ladies of Peter Claver will host their Sixteenth Annual Valentine-Champagne Luncheon on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Von Braun Center-East Hall, starting at 11:00 a.m.  This event supports Holy Family School-Huntsville. An Introduction to Centering Prayer retreat will be held at the Benedictine Sisters Retreat Center in Cullman, January 18-20, 2019.  This form of Christian prayer is rooted in the ancient Christian contemplative tradition and is intended to foster a deeper intimacy with Christ.  Private rooms and the ability to maintain silence are required. The St. Joseph Wednesday Adult Formation series resume on January 9.  At 10:00 a.m., the topic will be Parables of the Kingdom, a video series presented by Mary Ann Getty-Sullivan.  Moderator is Tom Uss. Ms. Getty-Sullivan helps us to hear, see and understand the parables of Jesus. The Knights of Columbus Council 4080 will hold its monthly charity “ALL YOU CAN EAT” breakfast on Sunday, January 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the St. Mary of the Visitation Parish Life Center, 220 Lincoln Street in Huntsville. We will be serving eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, potatoes, coffee and juice for $5.00.  Adult carry-outs are available. Proceeds will benefit the St. Mary Religious Education Program.

The Diocese of Birmingham will host a Prayer Breakfast Commemorating  Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 @ 10:00 a.m., Cathedral of St. Paul Life Center at 2120 Third Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama.
